Australian coffee liqueur maker Mr Black is back with yet another collaboration, this time with Melbourne-based Starward Whisky Distillery. Mr. Black and Starward Whisky have partnered up to launch a Double Cacao Coffee Liqueur.
COFFEE, CACAO, WHISKY
Mr. Black's signature coffee liqueur is rested on Tanzanian cacao for 96 hours, extracting rich chocolatey flavours from the amber-hued nibs. The resulting liqueur is blended with Melbourne-made Starward Whisky. The result absolutely hums in the glass.
TASTING NOTES
Nose:
Mocha, rich cacao and coffee bean.
Palate:
A rich and velvety explosion of mocha with beautiful accents of red fruit, toasted oak and smoky peat.
Finish:
Linger notes of coffee bean, toasted oak and subtle hints of peat.
WHY CACAO?
Coffee and chocolate are an uncontroversial combination – but have you ever thought about why? They’re actually more similar than you think: cacao is harvested, fermented, dried and roasted, much like coffee beans. Tanzanian cacao nibs create an authentic dark chocolate flavour that complements the medium and dark roasts used in Mr Black.
