We’re thrilled to announce the exclusive launch of Motel Mezcal, the artisanal mezcal brand from Oaxaca, Mexico, to the Drinks99 portfolio. Beginning September 2025, Motel Mezcal will be available across Hong Kong and Singapore, with China to follow shortly after.
This marks a significant moment for agave lovers in Asia, as one of Mexico’s most evocative and design-driven mezcal brands makes its debut in the region.
Motel Mezcal: Mezcal for the Moment
Rooted in Oaxaca’s rich mezcal-making traditions, Motel Mezcal is more than just a spirit — it’s a sensory experience. Inspired by Mexico's cultural legacy and crafted with reverence, its production honours every stage of the artisanal process:
- 100% Espadín agave, grown for a minimum of 8 years
- Traditional pit oven roasting, using volcanic stones from the Puebla Popocatépetl volcano
- Horse-drawn Chilean tahona grinding
- Natural fermentation with open-air pine vats and wild yeast
- Sustainable practices, including biodiversity-focused agave farming and recycled bottling materials
At the helm of this soulful spirit is Maestro Mezcalero Daniel Lopez, a third-generation mezcalero whose family has refined the age-old methods of maguey cultivation and mezcal production.
