MUYU Liqueurs: A Botanical Masterpiece from Three Visionary Bartenders

Drinks99 is proud to introduce MUYU Liqueurs to our growing portfolio of premium spirits. Already available in Hong Kong and Singapore, MUYU will launch in Mainland China before the end of the year—bringing its bold, nature-inspired liqueurs to more discerning drinkers across Asia.

A Seed of Inspiration

MUYU (meaning “seed” in Quechuan languages) was born from a transformative journey to the Amazon rainforest in 2016. There, three of the world’s most celebrated bartenders—Monica Berg, Simone Caporale, and Alex Kratena—were inspired to create a new kind of liqueur: one that honors nature, promotes biodiversity, and elevates the art of flavor.

Muyu Founders

Crafted in partnership with De Kuyper Royal Distillers, MUYU uses advanced extraction techniques—like enfleurage, steam distillation, CO₂ extraction, and resinoids—performed in Grasse, France and Schiedam, Netherlands, to capture the purest essence of botanicals.

Monica Berg – Jasmine Verte

Monica Berg, known for her precision and poetic approach to flavor, created Jasmine Verte—a luminous, floral liqueur featuring jasmine, neroli, patchouli, yuzu, and iris. Designed to be enjoyed as a highball with champagne, Jasmine Verte is described as “floral, blooming, fresh, sensual, luminous.”

Simone Caporale – Chinotto Nero

Simone Caporale brings his signature flair to Chinotto Nero, a citrus-forward liqueur infused with chinotto, cinchona, oak moss, curaçao orange, and cacao. Best served long with tonic, Chinotto Nero is “citrusy, opulent, zesty, lush and mystical.”

Alex Kratena – Vetiver Gris

Alex Kratena, a pioneer of modern mixology, crafted Vetiver Gris—a woody, earthy liqueur built around vetiver, timur, patchouli, petit grains, and cedarwood. Designed to pair with grapefruit soda, Vetiver Gris is “earthy, woody, mystical, intriguing and endless.”

MUYU’s arrival in Hong Kong and Singapore marks a new chapter for botanical liqueurs in Asia. With its commitment to sustainability, flavor innovation, and bartender-led creativity, MUYU is already making waves in the region’s top bars. Mainland China will join the MUYU movement before year-end.
