Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin

Four Pillars home is in the Yarra Valley, where some of the finest wines in the world are made. This inspired us to take Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes and steep them in our Rare Dry Gin gin for eight weeks. The result carries rich purples and reds to bottle. Flavour wise there are pine forest juniper notes followed by dark fruit, red berries and spice, with plenty of that Yarra Valley Shiraz white pepper. All of this with no added sugar. The ABV of this totally unique gin is 37.8% unlike Sloe Gin which is less than 30%. It packs a punch and is ideal in a range of cocktails or simply neat.

Tasting Notes

Flavour-wise it’s showing dark fruit, red berry and spice. There is also plenty of that classic Yarra Shiraz white pepper. And of course, a lovely ginny character carries those grape aromas, making it unmistakably gin. Bloody Shiraz Gin is unfiltered and will develop secondary fruit characters beyond two years (it’s best consumed within two years of vintage). Enjoy it over ice with a slice of fresh orange or add a splash of soda or good tonic water for a longer drink.
